Calatagan first epic bike trail race ever.

 An epic bike race that has it all, with a great mix of paved and unpaved roads, wide open views, demanding ascents and breathtaking descents. It’s a gravel grinder, technical trail, climbing challenge and road ride all rolled into one big adventure.

Race rules and guidelines
All participants joining this event must understand that innate challenges exist and therefore must be prepared. for the safety and welfare of all, those involved in this event, the participants must meet the following requirements:

Registration

1.       Fully vaccinated of any COVID19 vaccines by presenting vaccination card.

2.       Registration is transferable to any person (same rules apply) and who wish to downgrade must inform the organizer within the registration period only. No Refunds will be given.

3.       Upgrading to a higher distance is allowed within registration period only. Additional charge apply.

4.       Registration is not refundable.

1. Every participants is required to sign a liability and waiver form prior to the race.
2. Any valid ID must be presented upon claiming.
3. Kit claiming starts at 10:00am [Feb 19, 2022] for CHASING SUNSET participants.
4. Kit Claiming starts at 8:00am-11:00am [Feb 19] and 04:00am [Feb. 20, 2022] for EPIC RACE participants.
5. Mandatory gear must be presented.
6. Must present your deposit slip or online payment transaction (screenshot) .

During the event

1.    Social distancing will be strictly implemented.  
2.     At gunstart, only 30 participants per batch with 5 minutes gap will be implemented.
2.     Mask are required to worn during the start/ finish line, and at aid/ water station and checkpoints.
3.     Participants are not allowed to change bib number or substitutes in their behalf.
4.     Participants are advised to bring mandatory gear and recommended items.
5.     BIB number must be visible at any time.
6.      Given the distances between aid/water stations, every participants are required to have hydration bottle and trail food to sustain them between stations.
7.      Race numbers must be presented to the assigned marshal at different checkpoints. Numbers, name and time will be recorded.
8.      Beyond cut off time is no exemption.
9.      Declaring DNF (Did not finish) must contact the race director or nearest marshal to inform him of his intention.        
10.    Those who declare themselves as DNF at any point of the course will be for the participant’s expense. Vehicle may be hired at negotiated rates.
11.     Race start on time. Latecomers are not allowed to proceed.

IMPORTANT: The rules/ requirement in relation to COVID19 may be modified (prior/ during race day) in accordance with latest quarantine protocol of Calatagan, Batangas.

Disqualification

1.      Lost BIB number
2.      No facemask
3.      Mandatory gear
4.      Cheating, short-cut and course-marking sabotage.
5.      Unregistered bikers and pacers are not allowed.
6.      Any complaint must be made within 24 hours after the race and must be made in writing, signed and submitted to the race director.

RACE ROUTE
All category start and finish at CAPE SANTIAGO LIGHTHOUSE.

The route is an open trail and public road. Observe extra caution when going downhill, crossing road and passing technical trail. Always keep right on public roads. Participants are encourage to practice trail courtesy. Yield to fast riders.

The route is visible and marked properly by trails signs, ribbons, and cautions. Marshals are stationed at all critical sections of the course. No time credits will be given to any participants who gets lost.

Aid and water stations are assigned at certain point of the course. Checkpoints are place along the course.

The organizer/ race director reserve the right to modify the rules and the race route at any time or during the race for the safety and welfare of the participants.

The event pushes through, rain or shine unless the race organizers announce its cancellation or postponement at least 48 hours prior to race event for the reasons beyond their control, such as extreme weather and any condition that may render the course unsafe.
